How to Write an Award Winning Thank You Note to a Dermatology Office

Your life can be transformed by a dermatology clinic. Patients with dermatological problems often endure pain, discomfort and embarrassment as a result of a condition that may be difficult to diagnose and is resistant to treatment. A family doctor can sometimes be perplexed as this may be a condition she does not encounter every day. However, dermatology staff are experts and are also used to dealing with patients who may be particularly sensitive. It is not surprising if you have been treated well that you might wish to send the best thank-you note possible.

Instructions

    • 1

Start your note by getting straight to the point and saying why you are writing the letter. Express your gratitude, including naming individuals if appropriate. You may choose to direct your thanks to one person and "your staff." This might be appropriate if a lot of people were involved in your care.

    • 2

Mention a particular aspect of your care or an incident that illustrates the excellence of your care. You might say something like, "After many attempts to control my condition, I was dubious about the treatment program you proposed. However, you took the time to explain this to me, in a way I could understand. This made all the difference and I am so impressed with the improvement in my quality of life."

    • 3

Mention specific people, such as a receptionist who was particularly helpful. Sometimes these vital but less prominent people are forgotten, but a kind word or thoughtful gesture from an ancillary staff member can make a big difference to a patient.

    • 4

Compliment the staff in your letter, using terms such as "patience," "skill" or "expertise." Most people enjoy affirmation that they are good at their jobs. Mention the difference their care and treatment has made to your life. Consider including a gift such as cakes, cookies, flowers, theater tickets or chocolates.
