Places That Offer CPR Certification

CPR certification is the short and more commonly known term for cardiopulmonary resuscitation certification. Knowing CPR can give you the confidence to respond to an emergency properly and help save someone's life. Getting a CPR certificate requires taking a class to learn all the techniques you will need to know and passing a test with at least an 80 percent average. Finding someplace to take the class at a time that fits into your schedule puts you in control of your learning environment and lets you decide what makes you comfortable when learning CPR.
  1. Workplace CPR Training

    • Companies that require you to learn CPR as part of your training will have classes available to employees. Consult your Human Resource manager as to when the classes are, and sign up for the class. If the class is held through your work you commonly will not have to pay a fee and you will get paid for your time to attend.

    College CPR Training

    • College campuses often offer classes as part of their curriculum to medical students and other students who might need the certificate as part of their degree. It is usually offered as a weekend 1 or 2 credit course so that students who are not required to take it but would like to add it as an extra can take the course as well.

    American Red Cross

    • The American Red Cross has local chapters in every state of the United States. You will be required to pay a fee to take the course through the American Red Cross. The cost of the class and fees will vary depending on which class you choose to take, the location that you take the class and the cost of the associated materials. Contact the American Red Cross through the website (redcross.org) to find out local information.

    American Heart Association

    • The American Heart Association offers CPR training and also has chapters throughout the United States. The length of the class and the cost vary depending on the CPR class that you choose and your location. The American Heart Association has a website at (heart.org) that allows you to locate the nearest CPR class.
