How to Find an Aetna Provider

Go to Aetna's DocFind site and click on the blue "Continue to DocFind" button to begin your search.

Check the box next to your preferred geographical search option, such as "Zip," "City" or "County." After checking a box, enter the zip code, city or address in the available field.

Click on the "Distance" drop-down menu and specify that amount of mileage you are willing to drive to a participating Aetna provider in your area.

Click on the "Provider Category" drop-down menu and select an Aetna provider category, such as "Hospitals," "Behavioral Health," "Medical Providers" or "Pharmacy."

Click on the "Provider Type" drop-down menu and select your preferred type, such as "Primary Care Physician," "Specialists," "Walk-in Clinics" or "Medical Hospitals."

Click on the "Plan" drop-down menu, scroll through the list of available Aetna plans, and select your current Aetna plan.

Click on the "Start Search" button to begin your Aetna provider search. A list of Aetna provider results will appear on the screen.

Select one of the physicians or facilities that appears on the page and click on the "Provider Details" link to view the physician or facility's participating plan. A list of the physician or facility's accepted Aetna plans will appear on the screen. If you chose a facility in Step 3, you may need to click on the "View Plans" option to view the list of the facility's list of accepted health care providers.

Review each Aetna plan and make sure your current health care plan is on the provider or facility's list.
