Silhouette VR Specifications

The Silhouette VR is a freestanding X-ray unit that "requires little electrical and mechanical room preparation," according to General Electric. Because the X-ray machine is compact, it can fit into smaller rooms. The Silhouette VR requires no support from the ceiling or from walls.
  1. Generator

    • The Silhouette VR comes equipped with a three-phase, high-frequency 32 kW generator, with an optional 50 kW available. It has anatomical programming, and the generator is microprocessor-controlled and self-calibrating. The front-cover generator access makes maintenance requests and service calls much quicker. The Silhouette VR will allow 50/60 Hz with 380/480V input power.

    Physical Properties

    • This X-ray unit has dual focal spots at .6 mm and 1.2 mm with a manual collimator. The tube stand is integrated with the table, and because it is a pedestal-style table with a four-way floating top, positioning can occur much quicker. The tube stand can be rotated 180 degrees in both directions. The Silhouette VR also comes with a wall stand, a 100 cm grid and hand grips. Users will also enjoy a lateral cassette holder and a patient support band.

    Features and Options

    • The Silhouette VR has Automatic Exposure Control and a minimum distance of 100 cm for "cross-table imaging," according to General Electric. The X-ray machine is equipped with visual indicators that let the patient and doctor understand what is happening in real time. The generator is located in the table base to save space in the room.
