How to Use a Quickie P100 Electric Wheelchair

      Check the chair's tire pressure using a tire gauge. The pressure level is displayed on the sidewall of the tire. Typically 8 inch or 9 inch pneumatic casters should be inflated to 30 to 40 psi. Twelve inch pneumatic drive wheels should be inflated to 35 to 45 psi. Inflate using a hand pump.

      Charge the battery daily. Use the charger that came with your chair. A new battery will not charge fully for the first dozen charges.

      Adjust seat height. The seat can be raised or lowered in 1 inch increments. Remove the two bolts on the backrest pivot plate on the side of the wheelchair. Adjust the seat. Replace the bolts.

      Switch on the Quickie P100. The on/off switch is a toggle located at the back of the joystick platform. Pull down to turn the wheelchair on or off. Push up the switch to cycle through five drive modes. The mode displays on the platform. Push the switch to the right or left to select the displayed mode.

      Press the joystick forward to move. The joystick controls the speed and direction of the wheelchair. Releasing the joystick returns it to neutral. The chair stops and locks. Pressing the joystick to the right turns the chair right. Pressing the joystick to the left steers the chair left.

      Clean the Quickie P100 electric wheelchair. Use soap and water. Clean the chair once a month.

      Store your wheelchair in a dry area. Start it at least once a month to prevent battery damage.
