Instructions

-
1
Volunteer in a facility and spend some time observing a CNA. This is the best way to learn about the field before you invest time and money in training.
-
2
Compare different CNA certification programs before enrolling. Schools offer flexible class times to accommodate your other responsibilities. CNA programs range from six to 12 weeks in length. Coursework includes anatomy and physiology, training in technical skills, and basic education in disease and infection control.
-
3
Work alongside a CNA during your clinical rotations and take the opportunity to practice the skills you are learning in the classroom. After graduation you will take a certification exam if required by your state.
