Chiropractor Tools
Chiropractors work with tools to help aid in adjusting joint and bone areas in your body. The tools they use help adjust points in your body where they can't be adjusted correctly manually. They help with realigning sore muscles, tendons, and bones due to injury or just general problem areas.-
Adjusting Table
-
All chiropractors have adjusting tables. They vary in design and size. They are padded for comfort and elevated so the chiropractor can easily diagnose problem areas and align your body. They are usually electric powered for the chiropractor to raise or lower them to their needed height and tilt from an upright to a horizontal position as well. This enables the patient to get on the table easily without having to further strain his body.
X-Ray Machine
-
An X-ray machine is used by ionizing radiation to be able to view the skeletal system. The chiropractor can visibly see any bone or joint injuries, dislocations, and misalignments. This works well for the chiropractor to know how to adjust the patient and how bad her misalignment is. It also helps the chiropractor decide what instruments to use for the adjustment or if it can be done manually.
Traction and Adjusting Tools
-
Chiropractors sometimes use small mallets to realign vertebrae and other small bones. There are other small hand-held tools, called traction tools, that are used to release tension in muscles by creating pressure. Some traction tools use released pressure or applied pressure to tap bones and vertebrae back into alignment. Traction tools come in various sizes and shapes and are commonly used by chiropractors. These little contraptions work well in realigning the neck and back that manual adjusting cannot do.
