Obtain a bachelor's degree in nutrition, nutrition and health, sports nutrition or a similar field that relates to nutrition and 900 hours of supervised experience. Dietitians are not required to have a master's or doctorate, but they are required to have a bachelor's and experience. This applies to registered and licensed dietitians as well as licensed nutritionists.

Take the licensure exam for dietetics. The application for licensure is found on the Florida Department of Health website under applicant information. The application will require proof of education and 900 hours experience.

Take ongoing classes. Maintaining a license in Florida requires keeping up with new studies and education. Florida requires that all individuals with a dietetics license keep up to date with current information and dietary standards. Florida requires 30 hours of classes every two years to keep up to date and check that the approval number is available with the course.
