American Society of Phlebotomy Technicians (ASPT)

• Another entity that provides phlebotomy certification is the American Society of Phlebotomy Technicians. To qualify, the Society requires applicants to complete an accredited phlebotomy training program, five successful skin punctures, 100 successful documented venipunctures, and to join the ASPT.

National Phlebotomy Association (NPA)

• The National Phlebotomy Association (NPA) requires attendance in a program that teaches venipuncture techniques, 160 classroom hours, and a hands-on clinical practical internship to qualify for certification as a phlebotomist.

Other Ways to Achieve Certification

• There are a number of other ways to receive your paramedic phlebotomy certification. Classes are available online, and some certification courses can be completed in as little as three months..Certification can also be achieved by taking classes at community colleges and at some trade schools.
