Patient Assistance Programs for Ativan

Ativan is the brand name for lorazepam, a medication that belongs to the benzodiazepine family of medications. Ativan is commonly used to alleviate anxiety disorders and works by changing the chemistry in the brain. Patients with low incomes and/or no prescription medication insurance coverage may qualify to receive Ativan, or its generic equivalent, at a discounted rate through a patient assistance program such as Rx Outreach or Xubex. There are also prescription discount plans such as 1020Rx, which cost a fee to join.
  1. Rx Outreach

    • Rx Outreach is a mail-order program that provides inexpensive prescription medications. The program started in 2004 and has a list of more than 400 covered medications. Qualifying for Rx Outreach depends upon the number of people in each household, the household income and state in which the applicant lives. For example, a single person living in the continental United States and making less than $32,490.00 per year would qualify for Rx Outreach. A single person living in Alaska or Hawaii has a higher yearly income allowance. Similarly, households with more than one person are allowed higher yearly incomes. Lorazepam, the generic equivalent of Ativan, is available to qualifying patients. Rx Outreach supplies strengths ranging from 0.5 mg to 2.0 mg and offers a 90-day supply for $35.00.
