How to Track Down a Lost Medical Assistant Certificate
Instructions
-
Replace a lost medical assistant certificate
-
1
Contact the medical assistant training program which you completed, if the certificate you lost was from a formal training program. Program support staff will verify your identity and completion of the program and will be able to send you a replacement certificate. The Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs has a directory of all of the accredited medical assistant training programs. Find the contact information for your program by searching the CAAHEP directory online.

2
Call or e-mail the membership staff at the American Association of Medical Assistants to request a replacement certificate for the AAMA national certifying examination. The AAMA also offers members a downloadable order form for replacement certificates. Replacement certificates are available for a $20 replacement fee.

Contact the membership staff at American Medical Technologists, the professional organization that certifies medical technologists--another type of medical assistant--if you lost the certificate from the AMT national examination. Although AMT charges a fee for verification of your certification to state authorities, its membership resources page does not indicate a fee for replacement certificates. Ask staff for help in getting a duplicate certificate.
