USE SANITIZER SPARINGLY: "The more, the better" isn't a great motto for hand sanitizers. If you have a baby or toddler, parents or caregivers should apply the hand sanitizer. Children should be using a pea to dime sized amount, and adults should be using a nickel sized amount on their hands.

APPLY IT WELL: Since hand sanitizer contain alcohol, they evaporate quickly. Once you've squirted hand sanitizer onto your hands, rub your hands quickly together and get the backs and tops of your hands well.

NOT MAKE THIS MISTAKE: Too many people make the mistake of drying off their hands after rubbing their hands together with the hand sanitizer. You should actually let your hands air dry, as part of the germ killing process is done during the drying process. Your hands should take about 30 seconds to a minute to fully dry. After that, you can apply lotion if your hands tend to dry out with use.
