Thermogenic Hydroxycut Advanced

Iovate Health Science, makers of the Hydroxycut diet pills, voluntarily recalled some of its products in May 2009 because of multiple reports of liver damage. The company has since developed a new formula, Thermogenic Hydroxycut Advanced, that is available in pill form, or two flavors of powder to add to water. The new formula is safer than the original.

Caffeine

• A main ingredient is "caffeine anhydrous", according to the Hydroxycut website. Caffeine speeds up the body's metabolism and provides energy.

Natural

• The website claims that Thermogenic Hydroxycut Advanced contains natural ingredients like blueberries for antioxidant support.

Diet

• Thermogenic Hydroxycut Advanced is meant to be used in conjunction with a healthy diet and exercise program, not in place of it.

FDA

• The Food and Drug Administration does not regulate supplements, therefore any claims on the website have not been assessed by the FDA.

Pros

• Thermogenic Hydroxycut Advanced gives added energy (due to the caffeine), and has helped some people to lose weight.

Cons

• The weight loss is often temporary. Some people experience restlessness, heart palpitations, headaches and problems sleeping after taking Thermogenic Hydroxycut Advanced.
