How to Identify Mylan Pills

Mylan manufactures generic drugs, including prescription and over-the-counter drugs, and claims to market more than 900 separate products to consumers in more than 140 countries and territories worldwide. Pharmacies annually fill more than 200 million prescriptions with this company's products. Mylan also produces active pharmaceutical ingredients for generic drugs.

According to the U.S Code of Federal Regulations, "no drug product in solid oral dosage form may be introduced or delivered for introduction into interstate commerce unless it is clearly marked or imprinted with a code imprint that, in conjunction with the product's size, shape, and color, permits the unique identification of the drug product and the manufacturer or distributor of the product." Each manufacturer has a unique code or set of codes. Mylan drugs are frequently marked with the name Mylan or the letter M, and/or the letter G as in Generics (one of its subsidiaries).
