Find a licensed pharmacy that participates in the Oklahoma State Board of Pharmacy Technician Training Program. You must be hired by a pharmacy to begin the required training to obtain your pharmacy technician permit from the state.

Complete Phase 1 training. Phase 1 training will be administered by the pharmacy personnel and must be started within 10 days of your hiring date. Phase 1 training consists of getting acquainted with the pharmacy, personnel, regulations, practices, and state laws.

Complete an application for a pharmacy technician permit through the Oklahoma State Board of Pharmacy. Your application for permit must be signed by the pharmacy personnel who administered your Phase 1 training.

Submit your application for a pharmacy technician permit, making sure your application is complete and you include any fees required by the State Board. Fee amount will be listed on the application.

Complete Phase 2 pharmacy technician training within 90 days after submitting your application for permit. Phase 2 training needs to be completed at the same licensed pharmacy at which you completed your Phase 1 training.

After completing your Phase 2 training you need to inform the Oklahoma State Board of Pharmacy by phone or mail. Documentation of your completed training should be kept on file at the pharmacy. The board may require such documentation to complete your application for a pharmacy technician permit in the state of Oklahoma.

Attend a 3-hour board-approved pharmacy law seminar. This is an annual requirement and you will need to show proof of attendance to renew your permit. Pharmacy technician permits are renewed annually in the state of Oklahoma.
