How to Write an Ad for a Medical Practice
There are many health-care providers available, so it's important for doctors, specialists and other medical professionals to present themselves in a way that appeals to clients. Their advertisements should reflect the quality of care they provide. No matter where they advertise -- on TV, radio, the Internet, in newspapers or magazines, etc. -- persuasive advertising copy is key.Instructions

How to Write an Ad for a Medical Practice
-
1
Research the practice for which you're working -- their specialties and history -- and familiarize yourself with the needs of their patients.
-
2
Look at lots of examples of the kinds of ads you are expected to write. You can draw inspiration from them and get an idea of the kind of tone they normally use. "Medical Marketing & Media Magazine" focuses on providing professionals the latest in advertising from the medical field.
-
3
Consider the attitude you project in your advertising copy. Fun or light-hearted ads for a plastic surgeon specializing in wrinkle removal might work well, but they aren't appropriate for a medical practice dealing with serious illnesses.
-
4
Come up with a memorable jingle or catchphrase that captures what the medical practice has to offer. This might take some time to get right, but it's crucial. Again, your attitude is important: For those "fun" medical practices, you may want to consider a play on words (for example: "Get Sliced at a Good Price" might work for a cosmetic surgeon with an entertaining personality.).
-
5
Fill lots of pages and reject a lot of what you write. Writing advertisements is brainstorm-intensive work. You won't end up using most of what you put down, but you will benefit from exploring all of the possibilities.
-
6
Fine-tune your copy. Advertising copy must be short and sweet.
-
7
Ask your client to review the final draft of your ad. Take any feedback and rework the ad as needed.
