How to Get Diabetes

Diabetes results in high blood sugar, because of the inability of the pancreas to adequately produce insulin, or because of the resistance of cells to insulin. There are two types of diabetes. Type I diabetes is also known as juvenile diabetes and starts earlier in life. Type II diabetes is becoming an epidemic because of poor lifestyle choices.

Instructions

  1. Poor Lifestyle Habits

    • 1

Eat poorly. Diet plays a major role in the development of Type II diabetes. Eating low-fiber, high-fat and high-sugar foods will encourage diabetes.

    • 2

Become obese. Obesity is a common link to diabetes. This is often connected with eating poorly, but not always. Excess fat can negatively influence the body's chemistry.

    • 3

Don't exercise. Leading a sedentary lifestyle will encourage the development of diabetes. Many diabetic or pre-diabetic patients avoid exercise.

    • 4

Avoid the doctor. Avoiding regular blood tests will prevent your physician from detecting high-glucose blood levels. This will delay the prevention or treatment of diabetes.

    • 5

Don't educate yourself. Avoiding information pertaining to diabetes will allow you to be unaware of the lifestyle changes you can make to prevent diabetes.
