Have a physician document the onset of a long-term disabling illness or injury that would prevent you from performing the current duties of your job. The documentation must also affirm that the illness would prevent you from obtaining future work. Essentially, the physician must render you "Disabled" and "Unable to Work" in order for you to qualify for early medical retirement.

Demonstate a state of permanence. Demonstrate a permanent disability that would prevent all future earning potential. Document the severity of the illness and have a doctor affirm that the disability is not reversable and could not be improved with surgery or physical therapy. Apply for disability retirement benefits. Obtain the appropriate forms and apply for disability insurance. Alternately, you may access a retirement account if you are able to fund your household with these income alone.
