How to Verify a Physician's License in California
The Medical Board of California will verify whether a physician is licensed and can tell you the name of the school the physician attended, the year the physician graduated, and any disciplinary charges or actions that have been applied against the physician.Things You'll Need

Be prepared. Have ready the physician's full name, office address and the city where the physician practices.

Call (916) 263-2382 if you wish to verify a physician's license by phone. Because the Medical Board receives a high volume of calls, you will need to call back again if you wish to request information on more than three physicians at any one time.

Write to the Medical Board for information on physicians, providing the board with the physician's full name and office address, including the city in which the physician practices. Mail requests to: Medical Board of California, License Verification, 1426 Howe Ave., Suite 54, Sacramento, CA 95825-3236.
