How to Organize an Exam Room Layout
Many patients are nervous of going to the doctor's office. To lessen their uneasiness, create an exam room that encourages conversation between the physician and the patient. The exam room should be in a triangular setup where the computer, the physician and the patient are visible at all times. Increasing transparency will reduce the patient's anxiety. As a result, the patient will be more likely to share his personal issues and problems with the physician.Instructions

1
Place the examination table diagonally across from the door. That way, the doctor can greet the patient with a smile as soon as he steps into the room. Also, the examination table should be in one corner of the room, optimizing the space.

2
Put a stool or a chair on one side of the examination table. The stool should be close to the examination table because it will encourage the patients to place their clothing on the chair.
-
3
Use a swivel mount for the computer. Mount the computer across from the examination table. Place a table and chair under the computer.

4
Maximize the amount of storage in the room. Have the examination table also keep some of the supplies. Mount cabinets on the wall.

Keep the waste bins out of the way. Place them in a corner of the room that is underutilized. Patients do not want to stumble over waste.
