What is medical model of health?
Medical model of health views illness or disease as an "undesirable" deviation from a normal functioning state. It considers health as the mere absence of such illness or disease
In this model health and wellbeing are closely associated with clinical medicine in that diagnosis can often only detect signs of problems or damage after they appear (for example: after someone shows physical symptoms of illness or feels "not right”). It assumes that most physical, chemical and even some mental functions can now be measured to define states of 'normal/healthy function"
