How to Change Regions With TRICARE
Oftentimes, a military permanent change of station (PCS) will result in your having to change TRICARE regions. This is a relative simple process that you can do before you leave your current duty station and requires no paperwork. You must be enrolled in TRICARE Prime and be on active duty for this to apply. You may also complete this process when you report to your new duty station, if you wish. However, if you will be arriving or taking leave in the area prior to reporting, you should do this ahead of time so that you are covered in the new area.Instructions

1
Call your current TRICARE region contractor and let them know that you need to transfer your information to a new region. This will be either the north, south, west or overseas region, depending on where you are currently stationed. You can find this information out by calling your primary care manager or military treatment facility, if you don't already know.

Provider the customer service representative with the sponsor's full name, Social Security number, cell phone number and email address. Confirm the change for all family members.
-
3
Provide the approximate date that you will arrive at the new duty station or date of military orders. If you will be reporting early, account for this in the date.
-
4
Provide the representative with your new duty location.

5
Verify all information when the gaining region contacts you. Be sure to let them know if any dates or information has changed, as well as your preference for a primary care manager, if you have one.
