How to Get a Virginia Health Insurance License

You must obtain a health insurance license from the Virginia Bureau of Insurance if you want to sell health insurance policies in the state. To qualify for a license, you have to be at least 18 years old, submit a criminal record report and pass the health insurance license examination. The Virginia Bureau of Insurance has partnered with a private company, Pearson VUE, for the administering of the licensing exams.
