How to Apply for ACCESS Florida Medicaid

The Florida Department Of Children & Families is the agency responsible for overseeing Medicaid benefits. In order to receive Medicaid, your family must meet low-income criteria. Although the agency encourages people to apply online for ACCESS benefits, it offers other options. Once you apply for ACCESS Florida Medicaid, you can check the status of your application anytime by calling 866-762-2237.

Instructions

    • 1

Visit the Florida Department Of Children & Families website.

Click the "Apply Online Now" option.

    • 4

Select the pre-screening option to pre-screen your eligibility for the program. You will be asked a few questions about your household. The pre-screening tool only shows you how likely you are to be accepted into the ACCESS Florida Medicaid program.

Click the "Apply Online" button on the bottom of the pre-screening results page. Even if the pre-screening tool results indicate you are not eligible, you should still complete the application. For the application, you must provide your name, address, Social Security number, income and household expenses information.

Click the "Submit" button to submit your online application. The Department Of Children & Families will notify you to let you know whether you are accepted into the ACCESS Florida Medicaid program. You should receive notification within 30 to 45 days from the date your application is submitted.

Visit an ACCESS Customer Service Center in person if you do not want to submit your application online. During your visit, you will complete an application and submit it to an agency representative. To find a center near you, use the "Find An Office" tool on the ACCESS Florida website.
