How to Switch TRICARE Regions
Tricare is the health care program that provides services to members of the military, retirees and their families. You need to be registered with the correct Tricare contractor in your region, depending on where you live. Failing to notify Tricare of a change in region will result in denied health care claims. The United States consists of three regions; North (health Net Federal Services), South (Humana Military Services), and West (TriWest Healthcare Alliance).Instructions

Research Primary Care Providers (PCP) where you live; If you are enrolled in Tricare Prime you will be required to change your PCP. Ask if your preferred PCP accepts Tricare. If you will be located in a rural area and are more than 50 miles from the nearest participating PCP you may have the option to change to Tricare Remote.

Notify the Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS) of your move. You need to include your new address and phone number as well as the PCP that you have chosen. You may be required to provide this information in writing. If this is the case you can request that DEERS mail or fax you the forms. The forms are also located on the Tricare website.
