Co-Pay Plans Benefits
-
PacifiCare co-pay plans offers lower deductibles. Members pay co-pays for prescription drugs, preventive care and routine health care expenses. The insurance plan pays 100 percent of office visits when members use network physicians. Out-of-network visits require a deductible and a co-insurance. A co-insurance consists of a member and the insurance company sharing the cost of a medical expense, after the deductible is paid. The plan also covers prescription drug benefits, inpatient expenses and outpatient expenses.
Health Savings Account Plan Benefits
-
The health savings account plan offers a family deductible for one calendar year and members have more control over medical expenses. With a high-deductible plan, members receive a tax deduction and money grows tax-deferred. The money in the account is tax-free. Another benefit is that the money continues to grow every year. In a health savings plan, in-network preventive care visits involve low co-pays, and labs and X-rays are free. Most outpatient and inpatient expenses cost nothing after the member pays the complete deductible.
Dental Benefits
-
The plan does not require a waiting period. Members have access to thousands of dentists. You have an option of in- and out-of-network dentists. There is a low yearly deductible per person. The plan pays 50 percent for major services and 80 percent for basic services after the member pays the deductible.
Vision Benefits
-
Members can add the vision plan to the medical insurance plan. The vision plan network offers thousands of retail chain and private practice providers. Members may use out-of-network provides, but receive higher discount when using an in-network provider for eye exams, lenses, frames and contacts.
