How to Get Health Insurance in Massachusetts

The state of Massachusetts has laws in place that make it mandatory for all residents to carry health insurance benefits that they can afford. The state imposes tax penalties on those who do not do so. Affordability is determined by the income, family size and the lowest-cost plan available through the Health Connector, which is an independent state agency for finding health insurance coverage. Different options are available for those families and individuals not having access to employer health insurance plans or with low income or other reasons. Call 877-623-6765. Listen for the Commonwealth Care or Commonwealth Choice options.
