How to Choose a Health Net Physician

Your Health Net membership will restrict you to certain doctors, but the list is large. Profiles of the doctors are available on the Health Net website, and you can make your decision based on the doctor's background, gender, specialty and/or location.

  Gather your Health Net membership card. Make note of the ID number and the customer service number on the back of the card.

  Decide if you want to have a customer service representative assist you over the telephone or conduct your own search using the Internet. If you've decided to handle this by telephone, call the customer service number and allow them to help you find a Health Net physician. Go on to the next step if you'd rather search online.

  Use your Internet browser to navigate to healthnet.com. Click on the "I'm A Member" tab. Log in to the site, or register for the site if you haven't previously done so.

  Click on "Doctor and Hospital Information." Continue following the prompts as you enter requested information that should all be available on your Health Net membership card. You will be provided a list of physicians from which to choose, along with information about their backgrounds.

  Follow the prompts to choose the physician you want.
