What Is a Wellcare Signature Drug Plan?

Signature is one of several prescription drug plans offered by Wellcare. Signature is available to all Medicare-eligible enrollees and covers prescriptions in all Medicare categories.

Co-pay

• The Wellcare Signature prescription drug plan offers its customers generic drugs at a no-cost co-pay, and brand-name medications for $62 to $73, depending on your state of residence.

Premiums

• Monthly premiums for Wellcare Signature vary by state, ranging from $17 to $33. The Signature plan offers lower monthly premiums but higher brand co-pays than the Complete or Premiere plans.

Coverage

• Signature is offered in 49 states.

  Wellcare extends its prescription drug coverage to pharmacies and members in 49 states and the District of Columbia (Wisconsin residents are excluded). Mail order prescriptions are also covered. Eligibility

• Wellcare is available to all those who are Medicare-eligible.

  Eligibility for Wellcare's Signature plan requires that you be a resident of the United States and that you are qualified to receive Medicare Part A, or are already receiving Medicare Part B.

Considerations

• Eligible Medicare recipients should be cautioned prior to applying for enrollment in the Wellcare Signature plan, or any other prescription drug plan (PDP) for that matter. Acceptance to a PDP will result in an automatic discharge from any Medicare Advantage HMO to which you are affiliated.
