What Is Covered by the Texas CHIP Program?
The Texas Children's Health Insurance Program, or CHIP, is designed to provide children in Texas with health insurance. According to Chip/Medicaid, "CHIP is health insurance designed for families who earn too much money to qualify for Medicaid, yet cannot afford to buy private health insurance."-
Doctors

According to the Texas Association of Community Health Centers, CHIP covers a wide range of medical services, including doctor's visits. Services require an income based co-pay which you can check through the CHIP website.
Prescriptions

The CHIP program is designed to cover prescription medication. Like with doctor's visits, prescriptions also require a co-pay based on income.
Eye Care

Texas CHIP recipients also are covered for their eye care needs. The plan covers eye exams and glasses with an income based co-pay.
Dental Care

In its effort to be comprehensive, Texas CHIP extends coverage to a child's dental health with an income based co-pay. Some of the services covered by Texas CHIP include teeth cleanings, fillings and routine care visits.
Hospitals
