1
Go to the website for your health insurance company. For instance, if United Healthcare is your medical carrier you can go to myuhc.com. If you have not already registered and created an account, then you will need to do so to view your claims. You will want to have your insurance card handy if possible.

2
If you do not have internet access or you do not see the claim that you are looking for online, then call your health insurance company. Usually, claims are processed within 30 days of the day they are received, so if it has been longer and you still do not see your claim, it is certainly a good idea to follow up on it. There should be a toll-free number to call on your card. Select the prompt appropriate for claims.

3
Ask the claims representative about the status of your claim or whatever your billing question is. It will be helpful to be prepared with the date of service of your claim and the name of the provider (doctor) who performed the service(s).
