Cancelling Health Partners Insurance
-
1
Review the company's specific cancellation policy. Generally, Health Partners requires you to notify them one month prior to your expected cancellation date. If you work for a company that pays for your insurance, they will take care of this process for you, but if you have an individual plan, you will be expected to stay on top of dates and the cancellation process.
-
2
Write a letter confirming your desire to cancel and the effective date; submit this through the secure "Contact Us" form available to members at www.healthpartners.com. Keep a copy for your records.
-
3
Call Health Partners at 1-800-883-2177 three days after your letter was sent, to confirm its receipt and again confirm your request with a customer service representative.
-
4
If any issues arise, contact Health Partners and reference your letter and previous call. If needed, ask to speak to a manager, although the cancellation process is usually pretty straightforward provided you give a month's notice. If there are special reasons why you couldn't give a full months' notice, again, ask to speak to a supervisor who can address your special circumstances.
