    • Express Scripts is essentially a middleman to negotiate discounts in prescription drug prices from manufacturers of drugs. The company works with health maintenance organizations (HMOs), insurance companies, employers, workers compensation plans, government health programs, and third-party administrators. The company's Emerging Markets division distributes prescription drugs and medical supplies to health-care providers.

    Home Delivery

    • Express Scripts provides a mail-order pharmacy program that allows consumers to order refills of drugs by phone, online or by mail, and the company will ship the prescription drugs to the home.

    Military

    • The U.S. Department of Defense contracted with Express Scripts to process prescription drug orders. This contract allows active duty service members, deployed service members and National Guard and Reserve members to order drugs through the mail. For deployed service members, Express Scripts sends the prescription drugs to Military Treatment Facilities.
