Nurses have been in demand for a long time now. Certified Nursing Assistants

• The Certified Nursing Assistant's degree is considered the minimal entry point certificate for a nursing career. CNAs, as they are commonly called, are often referred to as nursing aides, and to be certified as a CNA, one has to attend a few short weeks of training. The education required to become a CNA is minimal, as you are not considered a nurses, but are assigned tasks by nurses who also supervise your work.

Associate Degree in Nursing

• This degree is often sought by many who aspire to eventually continue their education in the nursing field. The associate degree certificate in nursing requires two years of college education. This program is offered by many trade schools and community colleges. A high school diploma or its equivalent is required. Once a candidate completes the associate degree program they must be licensed by the appropriate nursing certifying body to become an LPN, or Licensed Practical Nurse. Such candidates may also go on to license as an RN or Registered Nurse, which requires additional certification and exam requirements.

BSN in Nursing

• This degree is the equivalent of four-year college degree such as bachelor's or bachelor's of science offered in different fields by most colleges and universities. Holders of registered nurse degrees may go on to the bachelor's of nursing programs and are often offered accelerated programs to complete the program. Having both degrees offers additional opportunities beyond the registered nurse work, as one may continue into the administrative areas of nursing.

MSN Degree in Nursing

• The master's degree certificate in nursing is one of the advanced degree programs available in the nursing field. This degree offers advanced administrative opportunities in the nursing field. The degree is offered at the university level and requires education in the administrative and management areas of the nursing career.

PHD Program in Nursing

• The doctorate degree program in nursing is offered to individuals who already hold a master's degree program in nursing. The doctorate program helps to prepare candidates as scholars and researchers who will further the nursing body of knowledge. The program builds on the advanced clinical courses offered at the master's level. Doctoral candidates in nursing complete a dissertation in some area of nursing such as health and the functional aspects of individuals or families. Individuals They may go on to the university teaching, research or any other field in nursing.
