    • International Nurses Day is celebrated on May 12, the birthday of Florence Nightingale. National Nurses Day is on May 6 every year. And National Nurses Week extends from May 6 until May 12.

    • Each year, there is a different theme for Nurses Day. The theme for International Nurses Day in 2010 will be "Delivering Quality, Serving Communities: Nurses Leading Chronic Care." American nurses vote each year for their theme.
