1
Check the battery for starters. Make sure it is fully charged. Confirm that the charging unit is firmly attached to your machine, and that the charger is plugged into a standard outlet.
-
2
Confirm that your key is in the power chair or scooter and that it is turned to the "On" position. Verify that the manual freewheeling switch isn't engaged.
-
3
Ensure the connecting harness (between the front and rear) is connected if you are using a collapsible scooter. Also check that the battery is clipped in and seated correctly if your battery is fully charged, but it's still not working.
-
4
Be aware of the maximum slope and weight limits for your model. Over-weighting your machine or attempting too steep of an incline can cause hesitation, slowness, or no movement at all.
-
5
Keep track of how long you have been idle. Your machine may have entered a power-save mode if it's been inactive for a period of time. To check for this, remove the key and wait for 30 seconds. If this is the problem, when you reinsert the key it will come back on.
-
6
Have your battery taken in for a load test if you notice the battery meter dipping whenever you press the throttle. It may be nearing the end of its life.
-
7
Replace the battery if your circuit breaker is repeatedly tripping or if a load test shows that the battery is old and can no longer hold a good charge.
-
8
Push the reset button if you blow a fuse or trip the circuit breaker, which could be indicated by the charger's light immediately turning green when you plug it in.
-
9
Call the manufacturer and/or take it in to the place you bought it from if all else fails, especially if you are still under warranty.
