Some of these health care associations are made up of, for example, nurses or hospice workers.     • American Health Care Association (AHCA) is the largest post-acute and long-term care providers association in the United States. Most of the workers the AHCA represents are responsible for the health of elderly, disabled and frail Americans. This association's main purpose is to provide information, education, change and administrative tools to the long-term health providers of the country. The AHCA was established in 1949 with the goals of improving standards for nursing homes, secure recognition and approval for the work done in nursing homes from the public and its officials, and to promote and adopt educational, legislative, understanding and cooperative programs.
