How to Adjust an Invacare Bed

Invacare is a leading manufacturer of medical equipment and accessories designed for home use. Their product range includes hospital-quality beds for those who require a higher level of comfort and control while in home care. Beds are available in electric, semi-electric and manual models and each has slightly different adjustment instructions.

Electric Models

  The two top buttons on the keypad of the remote control the head section of the bed. The "Up" and "Down" keys are denoted by small arrows pointing up and down, respectively. Press the "Head Up" button on the control pad to raise the head section of the bed; press the "Head Down" button to lower the head section.

  The two bottom buttons on the keypad control the foot section of the bed. Press the "Foot Up" button to raise the foot section of the bed; press the "Foot Down" button to lower the foot section.

  The two middle buttons on the keypad control the raising and lowering of the entire bed. Press the "Bed Up" button to raise the entire bed; press the "Bed Down" button to lower the entire bed.

Manual Models

  Turn the left-hand crank to raise or lower the head section of the bed. Turning the crank in a clockwise direction raises the bed; turning it counterclockwise lowers it.

  Turn the right-hand crank to raise or lower the foot section of the bed.

• 6

  Turn the center crank to raise or lower the entire bed. (This applies to model 5307IVC.)
