How to Clean Plastic Bedpans
Bedpans are a useful tool for those who have a difficult time sitting down on a toilet, or who have limited mobility and find it a challenge to walk to a toilet when necessary. - Toilet
- Liquid dish soap

After a bedpan has been used, empty the contents into a toilet. Flush the toilet.

Rinse the bedpan with water to ensure all residue has been cleared from the surface.

Pour a drop of liquid dish soap onto the bottom of the bedpan.

Add approximately two cups of hot water to the bottom of the bed pan, allowing bubbles to form.

Use a toilet bowl brush or a hand dish-washing brush that is used only for this purpose to scrub the bedpan's surface.

Pour the soapy water into the toilet and flush.

Rinse the bedpan with warm water.

Allow the bedpan to air dry in preparation for its next use.
