How many people have died in Mozambique from malaria?
According to the World Health Organization, approximately 3,972 people died from malaria in Mozambique in 2020. However, it's important to note that this number represents only a fraction of the total burden of malaria in the country, as many cases go undiagnosed or unreported. Additionally, this number reflects a decrease in malaria deaths compared to previous years; for example, there were an estimated 6,259 malaria deaths in 2015. Nonetheless, malaria remains a serious public health challenge in Mozambique, as well as other parts of sub-Saharan Africa, requiring ongoing efforts to prevent and control the disease.
