1
Prepare the cleaning solution. The cleaning solution should be mixed; if not, mix the solution as instructed on the bottle.
-
2
Place the microfiber mop pad onto the mop’s body. The microfiber mop pad is attached by Velcro; this will give you the ability to remove the pad easily after cleaning.
-
3
Put the mop into the cleaning solution. The mop should have a thin layer of solution on it. Mop as usual and use a new mop pad for each patient room. To prevent contamination after you have cleaned the floors, you will not put the mop pad back into the cleaning solution. Once used on the floor of a patient room, place the used pad in a bag for later washing. For a sticky or stubborn stain, spray it with the solution from the spray bottle and mop again.
-
4
Place the dirty microfiber mop pads into a standard commercial washer and dryer with controlled heat settings. According to epa.gov, the heat settings on industrial washers and dryers are too high and can damage the material on the microfiber mop pad. When washing the microfiber mop pad, you should use standard detergent.
