Idaho Medicaid Income Limits

In Idaho, low-income residents in need of medical care can qualify for Medicaid if they meet certain income guidelines. The guidelines vary depending on the applicant and the size of household.
  1. Eligibility

    • Idaho Medicaid is available for children, pregnant women and low-income adults. Applicants must be a resident of Idaho and a U.S. citizen or a qualified non-citizen. Low-income residents who may be eligible include those in households with related children, workers with disabilities, women who have been diagnosed with breast or cervical cancer, blind or disabled adults, and seniors over age 65.

    Income Limits

    • Income limits depend on whether the applicant is a child, pregnant woman or low-income adult, and how many people live in the household. As of July 2010, pregnant women and children are eligible for Medicaid if their households have income that is less than 133 percent of the federal poverty level, or $1,615 for a family of two. The threshold for other low-income adults is much lower: just $251 a month for a family of two.

    Asset Limits

    • Idaho Medicaid also has limits on the value of assets that an adult recipient can have. Assets can include property, bank accounts and cars.
