What is the easiest way to pass a medical terminology test?
Study the root words, prefixes, and suffixes. Medical terminology is made up of many different words, but most of them are actually combinations of smaller parts. Learning the root words, prefixes, and suffixes will help you decipher new terms you’ve never seen before.
Make flashcards. This is a classic study method, but it works! Writing out the terms and definitions on flashcards will help you to memorize them.
Create mnemonics. Mnemonics are memory aids that can help you to remember tricky concepts. For example, the mnemonic, "Every Good Boy Deserves Fudge," can help you to remember the names of the lines (E = Eye, G = Genitourinary, and so on) on a skeletal figure or diagram.
Practice, practice, practice! The best way to master any subject is to practice. You can try taking practice tests (online or in textbooks), completing medical terminology crossword puzzles, or even quizzing yourself with friends or family.
