Troubleshooting MCI Wheelchair Lifts
An MCI wheelchair lift, distributed by Motor Coach Industries, offers assistance in the loading and unloading of wheelchairs to and from an automobile. On rare occasions, a problem may impede the wheelchair lift performance. If you observe unusual movements or noise during the operation of a wheelchair lift, stop the operation immediately and check to see that the lift is installed as specified in the installation instructions. Maintenance and repair of certain features must be performed by an authorized service technician using specified replacement parts.Instructions

1
Reset the main circuit breaker -- located in the engine compartment -- or the control system circuit breaker -- located on the lift tower -- if the MCI wheelchair lift does not operate when the "Deploy" button is pressed, in case one of the breakers has been tripped.
-
2
Adjust the linkage rod ends on the platform folding linkage connected to the fold bracket, if the platform fails to fold or unfold completely. Clean the cam follower and track to dislodge debris.
-
3
Clean or adjust dirty contacts on the rear and front platforms, if the function of the pump motor is in question. Repair or adjust the Rollstop and Barrier Up limit switches if they are defective. Replace the control pendant if the Up-Down switch is defective. If the preceding points fail to resolve the issue, replacement of the hydraulic pump motor may be required.
