How many years does it take to be a medical technologist?

A bachelor of science degree in medical technology usually takes four years of study. Some programs combine the bachelor of science degree with a clinical year, which is the fifth year of study, during which students work as practicing medical technologists with some supervision. At the end of the fifth year, the student graduates with a bachelor's degree and is eligible to take the national certification exam for medical technologists.
