• If you have Medicare and need a Part D Plan, Walmart's website is one tool you can use to find plans in your area. Their RX plan link allows you to put in your zip code and pull up several plans through various carriers in your area. Other choices for comparisons include Secure Horizons and Blue Cross Blue Shield, but these will only compare plans within their own company.

Comparing Premiums

• The first thing to compare is the drug plan's premium. Look at the cost of the yearly premium with your yearly prescription costs and see if the plan saves you money.

• Find out what copays or deductibles you are expected to meet for your drugs. Some plans offer very low copays, whereas others may only pay a percentage of the cost.
