However, if you are planning on moving, or if you already have, it is important to have your Medicare address switched to your new residence. Call the head Social Security office at 1-800-772-1213 during normal business hours (9-5) on Monday through Friday.

Inform the representative that you need to make a change to your address. You are going to be asked your Social Security number, in addition to your old address and new address.

Visit your local Social Security office if you would rather make the address change in person. You can find the nearest office to your location by using the link in "Resources." Once at the link, type in your zip code and click "Locate." The government site is now going to display all of the nearby offices.

Use your sign-in identification and password to change your address online. Only individuals that received a password from Social Security can use the online site. If you do not recall receiving a password, you most likely didn't receive one at all. The site where you can sign in is located in the "Resources" section.
