First of all, remember that taking the NCLEX test requires a great deal of stamina and patience. With over 300 questions about nursing, it could be easy for a person to go crazy or lose interest and thus perform poorly. If you can, find a preparation book and try doing 50-100 questions at a time and work your way up.

Eventually work your way up doing around 150 questions in the mornings and 150 at night. Take a good long break in between and regain your sanity. Try sample tests from lots of different locations. Buy multiple books and search online for practice exams.

After about a week or so of trying 150 question blocks, go for the gold and try all 300 in one sitting. If you can't do it at first, that's alright. Try again next week. Keep using different tests so the questions don't become stale and too familiar to you. On the actual test day, remember to stay calm and do as well as you can.
