Is a certified midwife doctor?

Certified Midwives (CMs) are not medical doctors. They are healthcare professionals who have undergone specialized training in midwifery and are licensed to provide primary care to women during pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period. CMs are trained to assess and manage normal pregnancies, provide childbirth education and support, and perform vaginal deliveries. They also provide prenatal and postpartum care, including well-woman exams and family planning services. While CMs are not doctors, they are recognized healthcare providers who work in collaboration with other medical professionals to ensure the health and safety of women and their babies.
