Everyone experiences anxiety at one time or another during their lives. There are many home remedies to help you relax and reduce your nervousness. It is helpful to keep a diary to keep track of stressful events, and reflect on your reaction to those events. Also, try exercising every day to help deal with stress. Good options are walking, biking or swimming. Meditate or pray daily for a mental break. Try breathing in and out slowly to calm down and relax. Talk with a friend. Try some of the following remedies as well, to aid in relief of anxiety.-
Home Remedies From the Pantry

Soak 10 raw almonds in water overnight, and then remove the skins. Combine the almonds in a blender with 1 cup of warm milk, a dash of ground ginger and a little bit of nutmeg. Blend the mixture together, and drink it at night before going to bed. This drink will help to relax you.
Take a bath. Add 1/3 cup of ground ginger and 1/2 cup of baking soda to running bath water. Soak in the bath for 15 minutes. This will relieve stress and lower your anxiety.
Do a self-massage. Heat up a small amount of oil, about a tablespoon. This can be sesame oil, sunflower, coconut or almond oil. Massage into your shoulders, neck and feet. This is a great way to relax. Have someone roll a small rolling pin over your back along with the massage oil to relieve stress and muscle tension.
Refrigerator Remedies

Eat some celery. Celery contains large amounts of potassium and folic acid. If you have deficiencies in these nutrients, it can cause nervousness. Onions are also a good choice to relieve stress. Combine these two foods into some of your meals, raw or cooked.
Eat an orange. The smell and aroma of an orange is calming.Simply peel an orange and inhale the aroma to relax. You may also peel an orange and put the peel into an aromatherapy burner. Just cover the peels with some water and simmer. Once heated, the orange peel will release its fragrant calming aroma.
If your heart is racing, or you are experiencing heart palpitations, drink some orange juice with 1 tsp. of honey and a pinch of nutmeg. This should ease anxiety.

Rosemary has a calming effect on tension and nerves. Make a rosemary tea by combining 1 to 2 tsp. of dried rosemary to 1 cup of boiling water. Steep for about 10 minutes, strain, and drink a cup. You might also try burning some rosemary incense, and inhale the aroma to soothe your anxiety.
